Logo Design and Branding

A mark and identity that is yours alone. I have 15+ years' experience designing logos and branding, and I build each one to work as well on a business card as it does on a shop sign.

Building a logo

Example

Every curve and angle starts on a grid, which keeps the mark consistent at any size.

What you can expect from logo and branding design

An idea based on your business

I start with what you do, who you serve and who you compete with, so the thinking behind the logo is specific to you.

A mark drawn on a grid

The logo is built as vector artwork on a grid, which keeps the curves and spacing consistent and the edges sharp at any size.

Every version you'll need

Full colour, one colour and reversed, in the layouts you'll use most, including a simple icon for small spaces such as a profile picture.

Colours and fonts to go with it

A palette with the exact values for print and screen, plus fonts for headings and text, written up in a short brand guide.

Tested at real sizes

I check the logo on things like a business card, a social profile and a sign before you sign it off.

Files for print and screen

Vector files for print and signage, plus SVG and PNG files for your website and social media, in clearly named folders.

How a logo and branding project works

  1. Step 1

    Brief and research

We talk through your business, your customers and the logos you like or dislike. I look at your competitors, so yours can stand apart from them.

  2. Step 2

    First concepts

I sketch ideas, develop the strongest on a grid and show them to you in one colour first, so you can judge the shape before colour comes into it.

  3. Step 3

    Refine and build

You pick a direction and I refine it through the rounds of changes we agreed at the start, then add the colours, fonts and other versions.

  4. Step 4

    Files and guide

You get the final logo files for print and screen, plus a short guide to your colours, your fonts and how to use the logo.

Common questions

It depends on how many concepts you'd like and how far the branding goes beyond the logo. I'll give you a clear quote before any work begins.
